This survey collects responses from healthcare professionals, service users, and carers.

All responses are fully anonymous, and no identifiable personal data is collected.

Participation is voluntary, and respondents may exit at any time.

This study involves non-interventional, low-risk data collection and is conducted in line with accepted ethical standards for anonymous survey research.

As no patient-identifiable information is collected, formal NHS Research Ethics Committee approval was not required.

Research Context:

The Implementation Gap'

This audit follows the publication of our March 2026 BMJ paper, which identified a critical disconnect between policy and frontline capacity. While the data below shows the historical decline in physical beds, our current study measures the impact on staff and patient safety today.

A 4-Generation Clinical Legacy

This audit is independent and personally funded by Samuel Taylor, building on a family nursing legacy spanning over 87 years. This project seeks to establish “Ground Truth” by capturing the real-world experiences of those within the system today.
